Mark it down!
Grab that calender, Daily planner, Palm pilot or whatever you use you to remind you of important dates.
I have been informed that on Saturday April 10, 2010 (that’s a year from now) the 2nd Annual Neighborhood Reunion will take place.
WOW!
I missed the first one and you can bet your bottom dollar I will [...]

When McBears beat Farrell’s in football down on Farragut Road for the championship I walked past the bar located on 10th avenue and Prospect a couple of hours after the game. Players and fans had spilled out onto the street soaking up the fun. I had my basketball with me heading down to East [...]

I wanted to take this time to let all my friends know, the people who read and contribute to Container Diaries that I’m going to step back and take a break from posting entry’s. It’s been a great run over the past year and a half. Instead of posting as often as possible (my original [...]

Yesterday while I was driving back from work with Taylor I looked over at her and noticed something she was drawing. (When Taylor comes with me to work she always packs her writing and drawing materials).
I did a double take.
On her lap was a spiral notebook and something she was drawing that looked real familiar.
“SPIROGRAPH!” [...]

I picked Taylor up from her friend’s house yesterday and while I was waiting in the doorway her friend’s father Tom, who happens to be a good guy asked me about my brackets.
“How’s your brackets?” he asked.
“You know, I have a few favorites and a few underdogs.” I answered.

For some strange reason (I say strange because a lot of my thoughts lately fall under that category) I was thinking of 12th street. The 12th street I was thinking about this morning while working out is the one between 8th and 9th avenue (or should I say Prospect Park West).
I know of one person [...]

I received an e-mail from a parent of a child at P.S. 154 looking for people from the neighborhood who would like to help out with a project assigned to 5th grade students. In a nutshell, they are looking for anything from the past pertaining to the public school that sits on 11th avenue between [...]

As soon as the weather gets warm, everyone goes outside and washes their car. Driving around today I see many automobile owners waiting on line to drive their vehicle through the soap, rinse and dry machines…charging anywhere from $5 to $40. You also see guys in their driveway giving their cars the homemade business; green [...]

Whenever I step into an establishment that offers free Wi-Fi I’m always under the impression you’ll just log on as soon as you power up. At certain places, I get strong signals, other places I have a hard time connecting. Kinda like your cell phone; if you’re driving through an area where there are zero [...]

I have often criticized the youth of today for lacking a work ethic (especially basketball players) – who am I to talk – my work ethic sucked. I’m done with complaining about kids not working hard.
This morning, while talking with my wife she said we have become ‘lobotomized’.
It’s true… remote controls for the t.v. instead [...]
