Posting this message from Jay Cusato who’s been working on a documentary about Farrell’s.
Hello friends of Farrell’s,
We wanted to offer you all an update on our feature film “Why Farrell’s.”
We know it’s been a while, but the last few years obviously presented many challenges. BUT, we have been chipping away at this project and we are really pleased that now we are finally getting very close to the finish line. We have a really great working rough cut of the film, and it’s everything that we hoped and knew was possible. A real look and tribute to the bar, the people who made it what it is, the community and its larger place as a mounting point and lens, for the entire near century that it has occupied that space. To help us get things to the next phase we really need your help.
We are reaching out to you, our subjects and inspiration, for help with archival material. We have a decent amount of things already, but we know that many of you might be sitting on a treasure trove of stuff yourselves. We’re looking for help finding as much as we can of the following…
Photos/video of the bar. Photos/video of The Neighborhood. Photos/video of Eddie and any of the other bartenders.
We’re obviously not looking for a ton of modern content, but really any rare or interesting looks at the bar, the neighborhood and the people.
If you have some of this stuff digitally, fantastic. If you are able to scan things, or even want to take a nice picture of a picture with your phone, please feel free to try. If it’s stuck in a shoe box, or on an old VHS tape, and you have no idea what to do, that’s great too, just let us know, and we can work with you to get it in usable shape.
Thank you all so much for your dedication and patience to this project. This is really a labor of love for us, and we will not stop until we complete it.
