Bread, Leftovers, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Thanksgiving, Turkey
Hope all is well with everyone. Sorry but I wasn’t able to blog the last couple of days – been out of town. Wireless was hard to come by. Also with the team in full swing, it’s getting harder and harder to get to the computer. Oh yeah, did I mention Taylor, our nine year-old is craving more and more attention?
We can all agree that with the day after Thanksgiving comes the famous leftovers. That’s right, turkey sandwiches with mayo, lettuce and anything else people choose to slap on a few pieces of bread. Turkey salad is also another idea.
Tossing the stuffing and mashed potatoes in the microwave and of course covering it with the leftover gravy.
How long do the leftovers last in your house?
Keep posting those comments and of course I appreciate all the e-mails. Like always, if you feel you can send me a solid post for the blog, I’d love to look it over and throw it up on the blog as a guest blog. Would love to hear about your memories of growing up in Windsor Terrace. Because I’m sure some people are getting a bit tired of hearing from me (especially my good friend P.P.W.) LOL…

Turkey pot pies are always a good left over. After that its all like it never happened.
I hate turkey leftover more than a day or two.
We always encourage everyone to take a doggy bag home even if they don’t have a doggy.

How long do the leftovers last? I spent too much time brining and cooking. There are too many possibilities out there and I’ll do them until the turkey carcuss looks like something you would find in the ‘dinosaur fossill’ section of a museum.

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my younger brothers home Bobby and his gracious wife Diane, it was delicious as usual, with great company of other family members also. I remenber yrs ago one day I had leftovers the day after thanksgiving at Bobs home and it was the best sandwich I have ever eaten with Turkey. It was on Pepridge Farm white bread, with turkey, stuffing, cranberrys and gravy, and what a great tasting sandwich, after watching the kids play their sports!!!!!

My favorite Thanksgiving leftover is white turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwich with mayo, salt, and pepper on white bread. Great stuff!

Glad to hear thanksgiving was a success for all…Betty was a good time at Bob & Diane’s…Got a kick at your grandson (Jake) & mine (Sammy) discussing their talents at the Ping Pong table…they are 4yrs & 6 yrs old…Molly was the hit of the get together(Bob & Diane’s pup)…All you bloggers are too young to remember getting dressed up as vagabonds that morning and visiting all relatives in neighborhood…they were happy to give us fruit, some coins, nuts and we would see the preparations going on getting the tuurkey cooked..at noon time we ended the fun and would go up to the PARKSIDE and watch the SPEED WALKERS pass on their way to the FINISH at CONEY ISLAND….Wonder if the distance today (NY Marathon 26 Miles) was duplicated from those walkers????

When I was a young kid on thanksgiving we dressed up in old clothes and went from door to door and said “Anything for Thanksgiving”. What we got was a penny or nickle and it was the best day because then we went home and counted all the pennies and nickles. We would go to the movies and have turkey when we came home. That was a long time ago probably in the late fortys. It’s a great memory.
