The neighborhood produced many firefighters. They didn’t come any better than my main man Jimmy Rallis from Fuller Place.
It takes a special person to be a fireman. They are regular guys who give no thought of risking their lives for others. Let me put it this way, they are ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
I can recall Jimmy being a huge runner. The picture in my mind thinking of Jimmy is when he would come out of his house, check his watch and go for a run.
Jimmy ran track for Xaverian. In 1974 he was part of a relay team that ran the 7th fastest time in the country. To this day, the time still is the fastest ever in Clippers history.
