It was a little over a year ago Richie Ferraiolo passed away.
Rich was a good man from the neighborhood. Huge L.A. Lakers and L.A. Dodgers fan.
His nickname was “Chico.” He also went by “Snooze.”
Rich was my basketball coach, a friend and despite not realizing it as a teenager at the time, he was teaching me a few life’s lessons.
For my 8th grade graduation at Holy Name he gave me $10 in a card.
Rest in peace Richie…

Richie was the brother of Tommy. He knew Tommy and I were classmates from Holy Name. Although I live 2,000 miles away from the old neighborhood I keep close with my old friends and visit at least a couple of times a year. Richie would always say hello and be very friendly to me and had so much sentiment in his soul for the old days. He sent me a photo of his brother and me from sixth grade or so. It’s not going to be the same visiting the old neighborhood and not seeing Richie. Each time I visit it’s a little different as we all get older. May Richie have eternal peace in God’s presence.
Sincerely, Joe Hajjar
