Here’s a great essay written by Kenneth Nolan by way of Mr. Beller’s Neighborhood. Click here for the link to the piece. Nolan writes about a summer in PS 154 schoolyard as a youngster. I’m sure it will bring back great memories. If you grew up in the neighborhood, you not only played in Holy Name’s two yards but you also spent time in 154. Thanks Ken.
We were blessed we were. In our ignorance and innocence. We were happy and our world was tiny and fulfilling. We had everything: family, faith and friendship. It was a simple life, full of laughs and a bit of sorrow. We were young and our only worries were whether we could get a hit, win the game. And it was never as simple or as much fun again.
