Is Eastern Car Service still around on 15th Street and 5th Avenue?
Does anyone still take a Car Service? If you did take it back in the day, do you recall calling Eastern and the guy who took your call on the other end? They were great – had the best rates around!
Does anyone still own a token we used to use for the subway? Remember those things?
How about the bus? Can you still get a transfer?
How about the Brooklyn Bridge, when was the last time you stepped foot on it? (Driving over it doesn’t count) I used to love riding my mountain bike over it with Glenn T and Jackie R. I remember they were doing some construction work on the path we used to walk and Jack was like, ‘later for this‘; so instead of walking up a few flights of makeshift staircases, he rode right on the actual road with the cars!
How about hanging out on the corner? Does anyone do that anymore?
What about those little Cowboys and Indian plastic pieces? What about the soldiers? Do they still make ’em?
Do they still play handball in the schoolyards?
It’s freezing here in Michigan and while I was walking to my car today I couldn’t help but think back to all the nights we used to spend hanging out downstairs in the subway station. Do teenagers still do that?
What about when you come in from the snow/cold, do you take your gloves off and place them on top of the radiator? What about, ‘Take your boots off before you come in the house!”
Last but not least, do you remember your home phone number as a kid. I remember mine; STerling 8, 7307. or did they say. ST8-7307 – or how about just 788-7307.
Yeah yeah, I know, you’re probably saying, “he’s crazy!”
