Sad news to report.

My childhood friend and classmate at Holy Name,  John Rowland,  passed away.

John was 52.

Wake is at Duffy’s today (9th Street) at 2pm and 7pm

Funeral is tomorrow at 11am at St Saviour.

Last saw John back in 2005 in Staten Island. He was on the baseball field helping young kids. John was a smart dude. RIP brother…

They transferred John from the Methodist to Sloan Kettering but there was nothing that could be done. The Rowlands lived in the same building , right above us, on 15th Street. I will ask my brother about the viewing and post it here.

    John is at Duffy’s down on 9th & 4th today (Jan.30,2017) from 2:00 until 5:00pm.

The world is a better place for the impact John had on this earth during a life cut way too short. On a professional level, the number of lives he saved through his work with the NYPD’s Counter Terrorism Unit is immeasurable. If you were as lucky as I was to count John as a friend, you know that his friendship knew no bounds. Quite appropriately, the high school John and I both attended, Regis HS, prides itself on producing “men for others.” John personified these words every day of his life.

How many of my kids must I lose; let me count the ways. With my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Roland Family. John is the 5th NYPD colleague I lost within the last week. In closing, ALL that I ask of my fellow Windsor Terraconians and Container Diary readers is that when you encounter a Sanit, EMS, Correction, FDNY, NYPD and/or Military Personnel do tommy brady a solid and just utter one phrase please…………

God’s speed to you all. Vaya con Dios Juan!
