    Your article.
“Smile and grin at the change all around me 3/24/16.” I said it then and I’ll say it again. Parents are a pain in the ass when it comes to children and sports.

Great article. Youth sports should be a means of recreation for the children. It is a place to exercise, learn social skills and yes, learn the difference between winning and losing. These lessons are needed more today than when we were kids. Kids are couch bound, they spend all their time with their heads on tv, in a computer or a phone and have never learned what disappointment associated with “no” or losing. I work with different young adults every year and they are more socially adept and entitled. That being said, if sports are socials for the parents, they need to find their own lives. You know, continuing with the friendships they form at bars like beer gardens while their toddlers roam around like it’s a playground.

When we were kids my mom would give us whatever we needed to cover the uniform’s ,about 10$.The great guy’s at Bklyn 60 K of C took care of the rest.My father was working and my mom was taking care of the house. We all had a blast playing ball without a parent watching over us. The coaches were great and taught us well.
