Received a bit of sad news this morning.

Jocko passed away after an illness that he was being treated for for many months.

He was 68 years old.

Inside HN church

Jocko’s family had a service the last couple of days.

Then the family bought a nice home and property in upstate New York; they were living well.

Condolences to the entire family.

RIP Jocko. May God rest your soul…

  2. Phil says:

The Noftells lived on 7th avenue between 15th and 16th streets at least until the late 70’s and I think much later. Of French-Canadian stock, they were a very large family of about 14 or so. They lived close to me in our neighborhood. I occasionally hung out with his brother Raymond, rarely Jocko. They had a brother who drowned on a fishing trip back in the 70’s. I recall Ray telling me their apartment was small, and their kitchen so small they had to eat supper in three shifts for lack of sitting space. Jocko cut a tall, imposing figure, but he was a gentle giant who wouldn’t hesitate to lend a hand if the need arose. They were a good family and they loved making trips upstate to enjoy hunting and fishing in the outdoors. Rest in Peace Jocko.
