The city should be rockin’ this weekend.

Starting tonight the battle of New York takes place in Queens between the Mets and the Yankees.

“East side, west side everybody’s coming down…”

How much does this series mean?

“It doesn’t matter if it’s Sept. 15 or May 15,” Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner said. “Every day is an opportunity to win a game.”

Remember when they called it the “Mayor’s Trophy Game?”

Now its called the “Subway Series.”

“For us, as ballplayers, we concentrate on playing the game and trying to win the game. We don’t really get caught up into all the hype,” said Carlos Beltran.

As all former Brooklyn Dodger fans should say, GO METS !!

Totally agree. I went to one of these games two years ago. Drunk fans from both sides behaved atrociously, including a brawl on the mobbed 7 train after the game.
I will not go again, unless it’s for the World Series. My grandchildren were endangered.

I know booze is a big business at sporting events…but I wish they would do something about it.

Don’t understand why adults are fighting over a sporting event.
