DOG DAY AFTERNOON PART 2?

Bank robber

Oh brother…Calling all cars.

A woman in a headscarf robbed a bank on the avenue for $7,000

The Santander Bank at 234 Prospect Park West, just a few doors down from where I lived.

Remember Al Pacino filmed a movie back in the day about a bank robbery?

They say the suspect walked into the bank a little after 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Wait, I thought banks were closed on Saturday’s?

Anyway, be safe and keep your doors locked…

  1. Willy Wickham says:

There are many such robberies around the city these days. Most are not even armed, the teller calls their bluff, and they flee with nada. As Brooklynite Willie Sutton was reported to have said after being caught for a slew of bank robberies when asked why he robbed all those banks, “That’s where the money is!”. Willie never harmed anyone in all those robberies. In the early 1970’s Willie was an old man still in prison and being denied parole when Pete Hamill and others campaigned to free Willie, who was clearly no danger to anyone anymore. They got Willie paroled.

  2. Mudge says:

Was’nt the guy who informed on Willie killed

    • Red says:

Yes the guy was killed. There’s a few stories on the internet about Slick Willie.

      Interesting guy.

Thanks to Willy Wickham for reminding us about him.

Think I’m going to do some research on him.
