The New York Times with an update on the neighborhood progress, politics and prices.

“This is a working-class neighborhood,” Robert Mecea said, with more than a dollop of sarcasm. “But the houses sell for a million and a half, so I don’t know how working class that is.”

It is still largely a working class neighborhood. What Mecea is missing is and how safe the city has become which increased values in all the neighborhoods.. We were at our worse crime wise and economically in the 1970s ( though many of us kids had a blast). People that bought or inherited and stayed benefited from being there when the tide turned for the better. As far as home values go, it does not mean anything unless you are going sell or borrow.
