With the start of the 2008-09 NBA season, I can’t help but think about my beloved New York Knicks. It has been ugly as of late – coaching changes, player turmoil, media bashing and in-house friction. They have suffered through 7 straight losing seasons!
It’s been so bad, I actually stopped wearing my Knicks hat!
The team [...]

Warning – this video contains vulgarity. If you are at work, have kids around or get offended by the ‘F’ word, I suggest you pass on playing this clip. -SF
Lately, we have been talking about the high price of coffee – and as you know, I often write on the blog about I’m addicted [...]

If you are wondering what W.I.N means, here you go.
I once read where Lou Holtz said, ‘What’s Important Now‘? That’s where the acronym comes from.
What’s important now never really pertained to me as a youngster growing up on ninth avenue. I didn’t subscribe to the notion of making sure things were the way they are [...]

Do people from the neighborhood still shop down on 5th avenue?
Do you remember how alive it was down there? It was like a different world!
On Saturday’s it was the place to be!
You would either walk down or hop on the B75.
The donut shop on 9th street; I was always good for a dozen! [...]

“Gee officer Krupke, we’re down on our knees – ’cause no one wants a fellow with a social disease” Do you recall that line in a hit musical?
Well that’s how I kinda felt this morning.
This morning I was walking to my local cafe for some java (and to compose this entry). It was a bit [...]

Picking up where I left off a few days ago with the ‘Lost and Found‘ series; today I mention a few people whom I grew up with and wondered this morning where they are now and how they are doing? It’s amazing some of the friendships we formed as kids. With each passing day [...]

This morning sometime close to 8 o’clock my daughter Taylor pulled one of those, ‘I don’t feel good, my stomach hurts’ lines; clearly trying to get out of going to school. ( I must say, she has a possibility of making it on Broadway one day)
I looked at my wife and said, ‘OK T, [...]

Watching the New York Jets lose in overtime yesterday to the Raiders I thought back to the days of playing two-hand touch football.
In the past, I have written about Farrell’s football – we can all agree that those teams and games against McBears down Farragut Road were legendary. The Saturday afternoon practices down P.S. 154 [...]
